Valentines Day is a great time to teach kids about love and caring for each other. Reading books is such an important way for preschoolers to learn – I love making reading extra fun by tying it to upcoming holidays.
There are tons of great Valentines day books for kids. You can of course buy them, but I suggest checking your local library, too! You’ll need to reserve them early, but it’s my favorite way to get seasonal books!

Here are some of my kids very favorite valentines day books
We love these Mouse books but this is a cute one about making special cards for each friend.
Honestly this book wasn't my favorite but my kids LOVED it and love all these little old lady books.
Llama llama is another instant hit in my house. This is not one of the originals, more based on the TV show, but still cute.
Pete the Cat is "too cool" for valentines day until his friend convinces him it's fun to make valentines for everyone.
This book is sugary sweet and full of rhymes. Cute for littler kids.
This is. book about how much I love you and as a mom I found it so very sweet!
This book starts kind of mean (take a look at the title) and is about learning to be kind to people.
This was my kids VERY FAVORITE book this holiday. It's old timey but something very cute about it.
My kids did a love monster unit at preschool and couldn't stop talking about this book!
Thanks for reading!
