Learn how to make Pumpkin Rice Crispy Treats, a perfect addition to your fall or Halloween festivities! These fun, pumpkin-shaped treats are easy to create and are sure to delight with their festive look and classic taste.

As we head into fall and gear up for Halloween, I have a fun and festive treat for you all to try: Pumpkin Rice Crispy Treats.

My kids are crazy about rice crispy treats, and usually I make them regular and just mix up the sprinkles to match the closest holiday.

But, this time I decided to be a little extra. While these look elaborate, they took maybe four extra minutes compared to regular ones. No big deal at all!

Easy Pumpkin Rice Crispy Treats

These treats are shaped like adorable little pumpkins, perfect for adding a pop of color and joy to any fall celebration or Halloween party.

They’re not pumpkin-flavored, just pumpkin-shaped, making them a delightful twist on the classic rice crispy treat we all love.

  • 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Melt the Marshmallows: In a large pan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the entire bag of mini marshmallows to the melted butter, stirring until completely smooth.
  2. Add Color and Flavor: Once the marshmallows are melted, stir in the vanilla extract and orange food coloring until the mixture is a uniform orange color.
  3. Combine with Rice Krispies: Pour the marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies in a large bowl. Stir until they are well coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Shape Your Pumpkins: Wet your hands with a little water to prevent sticking (this is key!), and grab a handful of the Rice Krispies mixture. Form a firm ball to resemble a pumpkin and place it on a parchment paper-lined tray. Re-wet your hands after shaping every three balls to keep the process smooth.
  5. Add the Final Touches: While the treats are still soft, press a Mini Reese’s cup or half a Tootsie Roll into the top of each ball to make a stem. Then add a green M&M as the leaf.
  6. Let Them Set: Allow your pumpkin Rice Krispies treats to set at room temperature until firm.
