Want to make this Valentines Day with kids extra sweet? Here's the easiest way to make a yummy and beautiful 3 tiered heart cookie cake from place and bake cookie dough!
If there is one dessert that is always a hit in my family, it is a cookie cake.
They are delicious but also feel a bit special because they aren't the kind of treat you whip up every day.
That is, until you learn my favorite cookie cake hack - using ready to bake, place and bake cookies!
I've used this to make a lot of treats:
This particular recipe is slightly different because I went hog wild and made a three tiered, heart shaped cookie cake!
It is inspired by the triple heart springform pans I stumbled upon. They were so cute, they totally led the design for this cake!
Once you have the pans and the dough, this comes together super quickly!
How to make a 3 tiered heart cookie cake
Here's how easy it is to make this Valentines Day cookie cake using place and bake cookies!
What you need:
- Three heart shaped pans in descending order
- Baking spray (like Pam)
- 2 packs ready to bake cookie dough (I chose chocolate chip)
- Icing
- Valentines day sprinkles
Step to make:
STEP 1: Prep
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Spray your pans with non-stick spray.
STEP 2: Add Dough
Open up your cookie dough and add balls to each pan. Start with the largest. Add across the whole pan.
Use your fingers to press down the dough so it combines to create one big cookie.
It's ok to add a few more cookies on top, overlapping, squishing them down until you have nice full coverage.
Repeat for all 3 pans.
If you have leftover dough, go back and add it and press it down so you've used it all.
STEP 3: Add sprinkles
Add sprinkles to the top of each cookie pan. Be generous!
STEP 4: Bake
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.
Note: the smaller cookie will probably be done 1-2 minutes before the bigger one, but if they are all the same thickness, it won't be a huge difference.
STEP 5: Let Cool
Let them cool completely in the pans.
STEP 6: Stack
Once fully cool, carefully remove the springform pan by pulling the clip and releasing the sides. Use a spatula or knife to loosen from the bottom of the pan.
Place on a cake plate like a snowman - largest on bottom, then middle, then smallest on top.
STEP 7: Decorate
Decorate with icing, sprinkles, or candies. Serve and enjoy!
Enjoy!
