I'm sure it's pretty typical for a 2 year old, but my son loves dogs.
It's funny because we have a dog and he doesn't pay her too much attention. He chases her around a littly bit, but mostly ignores her.
But if we are on a walk and see a dog, forget about it. He's so excited, pointing and shouting and describing it as big or little and fluffy or smooth.
So, it's no surprise that he loves dog books, too. Luckily, there is no shortage of children's books about dogs!

My son has always loved these books where you stick your finger in the puppet and he's in all the pages! Great for babies!
I call this book a Dr Seuss knock off and that's the vibe. It's a bit long but my 2 year old finds the part that goes I DO NOT LIKE YOUR HAT hilarious and repeats it all the time!
This is a book that is asking the dog questions and he answers with different dog noises like ruff bark woof. It's funnier than it sounds.
Kids fall in love with a stray dog then come back the next day and the dog catcher is looking for him!
A sweet book about a dog asking everyone to adopt it and everyone - well almost everyone - says no.
An absolute favorite. Good for practicing colors, counting, and my son just loves pointing at all the spots.

A family adopts a new dog and the older dog is not happy about it!
We have a few of her books and they are really cute illustrations and lots of little scenes on each page.
I love National Geographic kids books because they are full of fun facts and gorgeous photos!
