Looking for fun and funny elf on the shelf ideas? Here’s how to set up an easy light show tickets Elf on the Shelf!
Setting up the Elf on the Shelf can be a LOT of work. Let’s keep it easy by using things you already have on hand that won’t take half an hour to put together!
Today I want to share an Elf idea that was such a fun way to bring in our family tradition of visiting the local light show each Christmas season!
Our elf brought light show tickets!
We actually get into the light show for free with our park pass – so I whipped up some cute fake tickets for the elf to present them. And of course, I had to make that ticket a printable for you!

What you do:
- Print your light show tickets and cut apart if necessary
- Hang your faux (or real) string lights.
- Wrap your elf in mini string lights (or big ones!) and tie to the hanging string so they are hanging upside down.
- Add your tickets and any other goodies to the floor below!
We paired this setup with Christmas themed light up wands. Spoiler: our elf has brought these 3 years in a row and they disappear to the north pole on Christmas! My exact wands are no longer available but I love this Christmas light up bubble wand!!
Happy elfing around!
