These easy no-bake Cookie Dough Bon Bons are the ultimate easy Christmas treat! Made with ready-to-bake cookie dough that’s safe to eat raw, they’re festive, kid-friendly, and come together in minutes.
I love anything that feels festive without being fussy — and these cookie dough bon bons are exactly that.
I’m a big fan of using place-and-bake cookie dough for cookies and cookie cakes, especially during the busy holiday season.
Recently, I noticed that some of the Pillsbury ready-to-bake dough actually says it’s safe to eat raw (thanks to heat-treated flour).
That little detail totally changed the game.

I love making bon bons at Christmas, so I decided to use safe-to-eat cookie dough as the base this year — and they were an instant hit.
They’re rich, chocolatey, and feel a little fancy… but couldn’t be easier. And kids can help with almost every step.

How to Make Cookie Dough Bon Bons
These are no-bake, quick to prep, and perfect for holiday trays, parties, or a fun afternoon activity with kids.
Why We Love These
- No baking required
- Made with safe-to-eat cookie dough
- Perfect for kids to help with
- Easy to customize for any holiday
- Great for gifting, parties, or dessert trays

Ingredients
- 1 package place-and-bake cookie dough that is safe to eat raw
👉 (I used Pillsbury Monster Cookie Dough — it has oats, chocolate chips, and M&Ms and is SO good) - 1 cup chocolate chips or white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening
- Optional: Christmas sprinkles
⚠️ Important: Any cookie dough flavor will work, but it must clearly state that it’s safe to eat raw.

Instructions
Step 1: Prep the cookie dough
If you’re using the Pillsbury pack with 12 XL cookies, cut each cookie in half using a butter knife. This will give you about 24 bon bons.

If you’re using a standard pack with 24 regular-sized cookies, you won’t need to cut them at all.
Step 2: Roll into balls
Using your hands, roll each piece of cookie dough into a smooth ball.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.

Step 3: Melt the chocolate
Add the chocolate chips and coconut oil (or shortening) to a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each round, until fully melted and smooth.
(It took about 4 rounds for me.)
Step 4: Dip and decorate
Carefully dip each cookie dough ball into the melted chocolate, coating it fully.

Place it back onto the lined baking sheet.
If you’d like, add festive sprinkles on top while the chocolate is still wet.

Step 5: Let them set
Allow the bon bons to cool until the chocolate hardens.
You can speed this up by placing the tray in the refrigerator.

These Cookie Dough Bon Bons aren’t just for Christmas either — just swap out the sprinkles and they work for any holiday or celebration.
Easy treats, minimal mess, and maximum holiday magic.
