Easy Mini Donut Ghosts – A Fun Halloween Treat for Kids

Here's how easy it is to make these lil donut ghosties!

mini donut ghosts

Ingredients

  • Mini white powdered donuts (or white powdered donut holes)
  • Mini M&Ms (or any small candy for eyes and a mouth)
  • Optional: Peanut butter or white icing (to help the candy stick if you’re transporting them)

Instructions

  1. Start with a bag of mini white powdered donuts. (Donut holes also work, but the candies stick better to the flat surface of the mini donuts.)
  2. Press two mini M&Ms into the donut to make eyes, and add a third if you want a mouth.
  3. If you’re serving right away on a plate, the candies should stay in place just fine.
  4. If you’ll be transporting them or need them to last longer, dab a little peanut butter or white icing on the back of the M&Ms before sticking them on.

That’s it—you’ve got adorable ghost donuts ready to spook your snack table!

Tips for Success

  • Presentation vs. transport – They’re totally fine for serving at home as-is, but if you’re bringing them to a party or school, use icing or peanut butter for extra hold.
  • Mix it up – Try different candy colors or candy eyes for a silly variety of ghost expressions.
  • Donut holes – They work too, but the surface is rounder, so the eyes don’t stick quite as well as on the flat mini donuts.

This Halloween snack checks all the boxes: it’s festive, kid-friendly, and stress-free. No baking required, no fancy decorating skills—just a fun, simple way to add Halloween magic to your day.

If your kids are anything like mine, they’ll love sneaking these little ghosts off the plate before you can even serve them!
