But, sometimes you just want to mix it up.
My kids are super picky eaters – and while I know they would love pie, it’s not always easy to get them to try something unfamiliar. Even sweets!
That’s why I like having a non-pie dessert on hand for Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving dinner.
And, sure, plain cookies are fine. But if you want to take it up a notch with little to no extra effort?
Enter: the Thanksgiving cookie cake.
You can of course use any cookie cake recipe, but using place + bake cookies makes it a super easy, 3 minute task.
And, can you resist those cute turkey cookies? I sure can’t!
I hesitate to even call this a recipe – it’s just assembly! Here’s how easy it is to make!
How to Make a Thanksgiving Cookie Cake
Ready to get started? Here’s what you’ll need:
- Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Refrigerated Turkey-Shaped Cookie Dough
- Sprinkles
- Icing Tube
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Shape the Dough: Press the sugar cookie dough into the bottom of a round cake pan. I prefer to use a springform pan for this cake.
- Add Sprinkles: This is optional, but I added sprinkles at this point, just for some extra fun!
- Add Turkey Cookies: Place the turkey cookies on top and gently press them into the bottom layer.
- Bake: Bake your cookie at 350 for about 30 minutes.
- Cool: Let your cookie cake cool completely before decorating.
- Decorate: This is where the fun really begins! Use icing to create a border or add words. Don’t be afraid to get creative with your designs!
