Pipe Cleaner Valentines Garlands

Valentine's Day is not a holiday that I typically go all-out in decorating for, but it is fun to have a few little accents.

This year I concentrated most of my Valentines Decor on this set of floating shelves. Grouping all of your decor together is a great way to make a bigger impact even without too many items.

But, I wanted a little something extra. I was looking at garlands - but none were quite right.

So, I decided to make my own - from pipe cleaners!

How to make Pipe Cleaner Valentines Garlands

These garlands are so cute and inexpensive to make using pipe cleaners!

Supplies needed:

• Pipe cleaners - I used this pink ombre pack
• Optional: twine or clear tape to hang with

STEP 1: Make the first shape

Choose to make hearts or bows. Here's how to make each.

To make a heart, cut a pipe cleaner in half. Fold the half in half and crease. Twist the 2 loose ends together and then bend into a heart shape.

To make a bow, use a full pipe cleaner. Fold in half. Create a loop on one side, using about half the length of the pipe cleaner. Twist to hold in place. Create a loop on the other side. Twist to hold in place.

STEP 2: Make the 2nd Shape

To make these into a chain, you have to connect them. For your second shape, string the pipe cleaner through the first complete shape before forming the second one.

STEP 3: Repeat!

Repeat over and over to create your full chain!

STEP 4: Add hangers or just hang!

I used clear tape to hang on the front of shelves. You can also tie on small loops of twine if you prefer to hang that way.

I love how these turned out - so affordable and simple but cute and festive!
