Here's how to make Easy Handprint Heart Valentines Cards - perfect for grandparents gifts, a classroom craft, or just to make for the love of crafting.

I love Valentine's Day because it is all about sharing love. I'm sure you've already thought of sending valentines into the classroom, but don't forget your family members too.

My kids love to mail cards to their grandparents.

For Valentine's Day this year, we decided to make these adorable handprint hearts for a simple but special Valentine's Day card.

Here's how easy it is to make these adorable cards!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock or craft paper
  • Washable craft paint
  • Paint brush
  • Paint pen or markers

Steps to make:

STEP 1: Fold the paper

Fold your paper in half. Make sure the kids hands will fit onto your folded paper!

STEP 2: First handprint

Paint one hand. Have them hold it like a mitten - fingers together.

Line up their hand so the thumb is facing towards the center of the paper. Allign at about a 45 degree diagonal angle.

Press down firmly to make a handprint. Repeat for any additional cards.

STEP 3: Second handprint

Now you want the second handprint. This can be from the same or a different child, but you want it to be the OPPOSITE hand. So, if handprint #1 was the right hand, now you want the left hand.

Paint the handprint. Hold in the mitten position.

Place with the thumb facing the center of the paper, angled 45 degrees but this time in the opposite direction, to create the heart shape.

Press down firmly. Repeat for all cards.

Let dry completely before handling.

STEP 4: Add writing

Use markers to add text. We wrote - WE (heart) and then grandparent names. Use your imagination!
